Celebrating Black Excellence in Chamber Music

For nearly 70 years, Clarion has brought world-class chamber music to the Hudson Valley. Today, under the artistic direction of Grammy Award-winning violinist Melissa White, we carry forward a powerful legacy: championing Black chamber musicians and Black composers whose brilliance has been historically marginalized in the classical music world.

EVENT CALENDAR

This isn't a side program or special initiative — this is who we are.

Every season, we aim to celebrate, as well as present exceptional Black artists on our stages, and feature works by Black composers, ensuring their voices will help shape the future of chamber music.  Chamber music's canon is richer, deeper, and more vital when it reflects the full spectrum of human creativity. At Clarion, we're not just performing concerts—we're changing what chamber music looks like, sounds like, and who it belongs to.
