Michael K. Hofmann
Treasurer
Michael K. Hofmann is an opera stage director, administrator, performer, and artist based in Hudson, New York, with a specialization in contemporary opera and devised performance. His work centers on genuine, accessible storytelling, with recent directing credits including Anthony Knight’s No Cowards in Our Band (Hudson Hall, 2024) and Hao Weiya’s Painted Skin (Hudson Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center, 2022).
A classically trained baritone, Hofmann has performed with numerous choral ensembles and small opera companies and currently serves as a staff singer at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie. Since fall 2024, he has been music director and conductor of the Hudson Community Choir.
Formerly Mayoral Aide and ADA Coordinator for the City of Hudson, Hofmann is now Audience and Member Services Manager at the Fisher Center at Bard. He serves on the boards of the Hudson Festival Orchestra (President), Hudson-Athens Lighthouse Preservation Society (Treasurer), Columbia Opportunities, Inc., and Clarion Concerts, and was named to Columbia County’s inaugural “40 Under 40” in 2022.
